It’s been about 2 weeks since I posted, and since then a lot has happened! Those last 2 weeks have been crazy, between work, school, and family vacation I’ve been crazy busy. But I’m ready to get back on track to posting for you guys twice weekly. 🙂 But until my next post on Friday, which will be an awesome post by the way, 😛 here’s a recap of my progress and stuff going on.
So let’s start with the awesome news first. Not only did I complete my second semester of my Master’s classes ( no word yet with what my grade is), but I was also accepted as a fully matriculated student to the Social Work Masters program. The last year I have been a non-matriculated student, paying out of pocket for my classes. The max amount of classes that a non-matriculated student can take is 2. For anyone paying attention, that means that this semester was my last class until I was accepted. Now that that has happened, I can finally move on to the rest of my classes. 🙂
2 weeks ago I went on a weekend vacation with my family to a dude ranch in upstate NY. It was an awesome time! Here are a few pics below of the place we were.
And for the first time in a long time while on vacation, I felt really great. In order to get ready for the trip, I went clothes shopping. While shopping, I decided to try on a pair on 9 jeans. They were tight, not going to lie. But they fit. They fit, and they look amazing, if I do say so myself. I got to wear these jeans on vacation, with a really cute top, and this is one of the reasons why I felt so good. Finally buying a pair of jeans that were in the single digits was such a great feeling. Now I can’t wait until these are getting too big for me. 🙂
By the way, one of the shirts that I got to wear with the jeans… a size small!
So this past weekend I traveled again with my family, this time to Alfred University. My little brother graduated from college. I can’t put to words how proud I am of him. It was a fun time seeing him, since we haven’t in a long time. With Alfred being a 6-7 hour drive away, we don’t get to see him as much as other families get to see their college students. But my brother and his house mates threw a party the night before, and seeing him with all his friends and their families too was so much fun.
Not going to lie, while I had a great time at the party, and seeing my brother, the graduation itself was NOT fun. It was about 3 and a half hours long, and their main speaker droned on and on for almost an hour. The drive there and back wasn’t too fun either, but I managed to still have a good time and get all my last minute assignments done…. even if it was while typing on my phone on the way home.
Another fun part of the past 2 weeks is that while I usually end up going up in weight while traveling and on vacation, this time I didn’t. Within a day of being back each weekend, I was back down to whatever I was since I had left. It’s a good thing to know that I can recover within a day and be back on track without missing a beat.
Okay, enough ranting. Now that I am back on track, you’ll be hearing from me on a weekly basis. I have a lot of ideas for this site, and for you, the reader!! I’m making a ton of progress on my journey to being healthy, and I can’t wait to share it all with you. Check back in on Friday, I’ll have a new post then… like I said earlier, it’ll be a really good one that I am excited to share with everyone! 🙂
